CSF 2010 _ EN

PROMOTION AND AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT OF EUROPEAN AND LATIN AMERICAN CINEMA

for European and Latin-American professionals

Applications are now closed for all professionals.

Why?

The exhibitors and distributors from Europe and Latin America face 2 main issues regarding the distribution of Latin-American and European movies on the 2 continents: concentration and homogenisation of the market: concentration of the distribution and exhibition market on certain big movies with huge marketing campaigns or a certain kind of screens. In this context, independents find it harder and harder to promote their movies and to get the audience attention. In this sense, cultural diversity itself is at stake here.

Thought, there is a real appetite for diversity: how to create and feed this appetite? How can the independent sector develop and reinforce itself?

How?

The Cine Sin Fronteras workshops offer a training programme to professionals (distributors, exhibitors, festival managers, managers of public or private institutions...) willing to be informed on how to stimulate and encourage the circulation of cinematographic works in both markets, legal issues, financing strategies and to gain more skills in the field of independent films promotion in order to develop their career and company competitiveness.

That's why the methodology adopted is based on exchange of experiences, competences, and knowledge, focus on regional market situation and network between the professionals from the 2 continents:

  • Conferences and case studies
    •  market structure and access to film copies ;
    •  national and international public policies
    •  impact and digital opportunities on film diffusion.
  • Practical workshops
    •  marketing
    •  project management
    •  audience development
    •  young audiences
    •  mutualisation and professional networking
  • Screening and professional meetings
